General
Description: The
SP96 Conductivity Probe is a stainless steel rod mounted in
a tough polycarbonate housing designed for vertical
immersion in liquids within harsh environments. The probe is
ideal for low voltage monitoring of the liquid level in tanks where
a
conductivity path will form between one or more level probes
and an earth common.
Where the tank is insulated and an earth return is unavailable,
an additional ‘common’ probe may be used for this purpose.
The connection of the cable to the probe is epoxy sealed against the ingress
of moisture. An airtight pocket ensures that when liquid levels fall, that
a conductive moisture track will not form a path from the probe tip to the
plastic
housing and give false readings.
The probe housing is a press fit into standard 25mm electrical conduit so the
depth of insertion may be controlled by the conduit length in a given installation.
, (shown above, right) Where the liquid being measured is abundant with foam
and floating residue, it is recommended that the probe or probes be clustered
in a section of 90mm PVC pipe as a protective shroud.
Each probe comes with a two metre length of PVC coated 2.5 sq.mm cable, which
is available in four standard colours, Red, White, Blue & Green/Yellow stripe.
