How to create your own Control Product
There is a reoccurring pattern where an established company wants to satisfy a particular need in the marketplace. They intimately understand their area of expertise, but they need an element of intelligence or control to bring it all together.  This is the area where Alian Electronics operates.   Its specialty is to take a clients need, refine it into a physical design, then turn it into a product to match the demand.   It can do this as a prototype or as a short production run.  Our experience in circuit board design and in-house software development keeps costs to a minimum.

Many grand engineering designs have started from a sketch on a serviette in a coffee shop!
Often the client knows their requirements in general terms and some dialogue is necessary to help define the needs.   Sometimes the best advice will be a referral to a low-cost off-the-shelf solution not previously considered, or go half-way and make changes to an existing control system.  If neither of these options are going to work, then we consider the necessity of a brand-new approach.  It is important to realise that this is a process that must be dealt with in stages.

It can be easy to underestimate the work required to transform an idea into a saleable product.  Alian Electronics has taken clients through this process many times.

Not only can we offer design services, but we can also provide small and medium scale production runs.  Many clients will only need twenty or one hundred units per year. Some will reach this point in weeks.  Either way, we can usually help out.

Be aware of the importance of proper testing of your product.  Details of how to test a product are described in the article below

We trust that this information has been of some value to you.

ARTICLE:   Tests, Experiments & Trials

Picture
This two page article appeared in Australian Manufacturing Monthly back in 2005.  It describes the process of testing a product -  any product, and how this process can mean different things to different people.

It is a common-sense approach to getting a product to market without frightening off your best customers.
